High-Level Meeting at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi reviews preparations for Kashi Tamil Sangamam 5.0

A high-level meeting at Banaras Hindu University reviewed preparations for Kashi Tamil Sangamam 5.0, scheduled from November 28 to December 12, 2026, to promote the Thirukkural.

• The event will feature 1,400 participants from Tamil Nadu on an eight-day journey to Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya.
• Fifty teachers from Tamil Nadu will teach the Thirukkural in Uttar Pradesh schools and colleges during the event.
• A nationwide Students' Engagement Programme will be conducted through 1,000 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
• The Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT) is spearheading digital outreach, publications, and institutional engagements.
• IIT Madras and Banaras Hindu University are serving as the nodal coordinating institutions for Tamil Nadu and Kashi, respectively.
